How to get a free IPod Nano [Part 6]

December 1, 2005

It’s been about 2 months since I signed up for this free IPod Nano thingy. Please read my previous part of my quest in getting the free IPod Nano here: Part 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. Here’s the latest update:

- 3 person has turned green, 2 more to go! (need 5 people to turn green - which means approved)

Here’s a summary from the earlier parts on how to get a free IPod Nano:

1) Sign up at freepay.com (with my referral ID, just wanna be honest with you).
2) You need to sign up with one of their sponsors. But you don’t have to pay anything if you choose ScreenSelect Free 21-day Trial. So choose that! (I did the same). Choose e-Fax free trial if you’re in the US or Canada.
3) Get 5 friends to do the same thing!
4) Cancel the trials before the end of the free period to avoid charges. (I cancelled mine last month and I’m still eligible, so there).

That’s it. As simple as that.

The result of war in Iraq

October 3, 2005

I came across this site, containing pictures of the result of war in Iraq. They are pretty graphic, so…visit the site at your own risk.

Some people just don’t understand that peace cannot be gained by violence. So, is it much peaceful there in Iraq after the war? To me, it seems like there are more and more suicide bombings.

Why can’t they take Mahatma Gandhi as an example?

100 best products of 2005

October 2, 2005

PCWorld has the list. Go take a look.

Hmm..how many things on the list have you got? It’s strange though..to include Google as a product (and it’s not on the top spot, don’t worry). I see it more like a service instead of product.

Go update your shopping list now. :)

How To Increase your upload/download/ratio in torrent trackers

I’m sure most of you are bittorrent users. Or maybe, I’m over generalising. Anyway, for bit torrent users, sometimes, you might come across BT sites that require you to sign up on their website, and maintain a good upload/download ratio in order to download stuff from them. However, here’s a trick to bypass that….by making your upload/download ratio very high so that you can easily download anything you want.

Check out the guide here: Link

Try at your own risk. :)

Reducing spam by icon generator?

October 1, 2005

These are the two websites for generating email icons. So instead of publishing superman@hotmail.com or superman@gmail.com, your email address will be displayed on an image (so it’s not clickable and spam robots won’t be able to get your email address).

Here you go:
http://services.nexodyne.com/email/index.php (for Hotmail, Yahoo, GMail, and many more)
http://gizmo967.mgs3.org/Gmail/ (for GMail only)

Well, some people might say that these websites will sell your email to unknown 3rd party….to be honest, I’m not sure (even if they have a privacy policy, but who knows right?). If that’s the case, I guess the safest way to protect your email is to just type it as superman[AT]godzilla[DOT]com if you’re going to publish it on the internet. :P

100Mbps broadband?

September 30, 2005

100Mbps broadband? Not in Malaysia, I supposed…will take years for them to implement a speed like that. But Telewest UK claimed that they will roll out their 100Mbps broadband by the year 2007, which is less than 2 years from now. Still, broadband in the UK is considered very slow in comparison with other broadband providers of other countries, Japan especially.

In 2003, while BT was rolling out their 1Mbps broadband connection, the Japanese were already enjoying up to 26Mbps of ADSL broadband. And guess what? They paid much less.

Anyone knows the fastest broadband speed in Japan now? I bet it’ll put every country to shame…
