Yahoo Domain Name?
August 7, 2005I read from somewhere that Yahoo domains charges $4.99 per year for up to 5 years for its .com domain. But I tried looking at yahoo domains website but still couldn’t find anything that explains the offer (from the website, Yahoo Domains is on sale at $9.95 instead). Is there anyone here who is using Yahoo domain name at the moment?
I tried doing a search on Google but to no avail. Instead, I found this super weird website with “Yahoo Domain” words all over the website (how ironic, the website url is = http://www.thisisnotawebsite.com/domains-yahoo/domains-yahoo.htm ) < --This is not a website? =.="
It certainly looks like a website created just for adsense earning.
Anyway, I would like to hear some feedback about those using Yahoo Domain. How can I get the $4.99 per year .com domain name? Any idea? It's still more expensive than the $3.95 domain name that I introduced earlier here, but seems like Yahoo one is better in the long run.

I have one recommendation about Yahoo Domains - DON’T! I have spent the past four days trying to transfer my .org domain from Yahoo to another registraa. It has taken six calls to their support people to try to get the required access code, and NONE of them even knew what an access code is - I had to read the explanation from Yahoo’s own help pages over the phone to them! They are a reseller for MelbourneIT, and now I can’t get a response from that company. My domain name is broken and in limbo, and the best Yahoo has been able to do is to give me a phone number to call in Australia - and I’m in the US. My advice: no matter what the cost, stay away from Yahoo Domains.

Joel, thanks for your invaluable advice! It’s hard to believe that even a company as big as Yahoo can provide such a bad service….. Fortunately, I didn’t sign up with them yet.. Hope you’ll be able to resolve your issues with them soon… Cheers~

Let’s share my experience. I bought a domain name from Yahoo! Domain using credit card. Credit card centre called me for confirmation. After two days, I visited my site and found out that page not found. I thought my siteserver down. But i think it is impossible as i hosted my other sites at the same server which are all working fine. Then i went to check the whois information and found out that the domain is belong to someone else. And yahoo! refund me. Shit!!! I can’t believe that…the domain name is googlegulpcaps.com
